Skipper signs three-year Pompey contract
Johnny Ertl has penned a new three-year Pompey deal.
The Blues skipper – who is comfortable in midfielder or defence – arrived at Fratton Park last August.
He got off to an inauspicious start, with an own-goal in a home defeat to Oldham.
But Ertl soon won over the Fratton faithful and was awarded the captain’s armband following the departure of Brian Howard in January.
The Austrian – who has also starred for Crystal Palace and Sheffield United – made 39 appearances last season and was named Pompey’s Player of the Year.
